Portmeirion. What a delightful surprise amongst the North Wales mountains. The colours of Clough Williams-Ellis’ Italian vision are amazing, and I love painting the higgledy piggledy shapes of the buildings. Giclee print 40cm x 28cm
Full size print - in a 20" x 16" (40.7 x 50.8 cm) conservation grade mount ready to frame.

Balconies in Valletta, Malta They say you either love Malta or hate it – I loved it ! The people were gracious and welcoming, the cities and towns fascinating, the buses amazing – I sound like an advert for the Malta Tourist Board. These wonderful balconies are just around the corner from the Shipwreck Church in Valletta and delightfully run right the way along the ‘snakes and ladders’ type streets. Giclee print 26cm x 39cm
Whitby Harbour I We used to go regularly to Whitby when our children were young and fossil hunting was the order of the day. But then the virtues of the town itself took over and we kept going for the views, the Cliffside walks and the food. I was delighted to have an exhibition in Pannett Park Museum and Gallery there, as it was an excuse to go and work and explore the beautiful North East Yorkshire coastline – and the quite different light over in the east of the country. This picture of the fishing boats was used as the cover of the Whitby International Folk Festival programme. Giclee print 28cm x 40cm
Whitby Harbour II The explanation for the softer romantic take on this vista of Whitby Harbour, is because I had just eaten a splendid chocolate pudding in the Magpie Restaurant, and the effect of the internal atmosphere of artists is often overlooked when considering their choice of approach to their subject…. Giclee print 28cm x 40cm
Valletta, Malta I think I probably eulogised enough about Malta when writing about one of the other Malta prints – suffice it to say, I had a wonderful time painting this, it took ages, and I got a commendation for it from the RA. It is of the jumble of buildings alongside the grand harbour from the balcony in Upper Barrakka Gardens, ( just above where they fire the cannon) Giclee print 38cm x 25cm
In 1982 long before I started painting, Frank and I took our mums on an eventful coach trip across Europe ending in N. Italy. A day trip took us to Venice and we all fell in love. Much later I painted this picture that I took then because it brought so many happy memories. Giclee print 40 x 28 cm
