"Colours of autumn"             £595

original watercolour

painting size 40cm x 27cm

I have been told quite a lot that my work looks like it was done by more than one artist – as I am self-taught I like to challenge myself and am still exploring possibilities with watercolour. I am a long way from mastering abstraction to my satisfaction but I do like varying my palette as I think this picture demonstrates. These impressive trees are in N Wales and I think their joyous colours take the sting out of approaching winter. (As does the prospect of crumpets in front of an open fire !)

Llyn Gwynant in Winter       £495

original watercolour

40 x 27 cm

Just on the brink of moving we allowed ourselves a couple of ‘farewell days’ to visit the places we have loved over the 37 years we have lived in North Wales. They did not disappoint. This picture came from one of those days – Llyn Gwynant was like glass with a little magical mist punctuating the mountains.  A little postcard from Wales for me perhaps.

Secret Door                  £695

original watercolour

40 x 27 cm

This is one of the first pictures I have done since moving to our new home, along with the Stream in Wilton Park and the horse statue in Hawick. This hidden door is gradually being reclaimed by nature on the Eden Estate near Peebles. We happened upon it when we were noodling about and followed signs to A National Gardens open day.

The waterfall at Aber (gwyngregyn)              £495

original watercolour

40 x 27cm

I was particularly tickled by the way the foreground rocks turned out in this painting – it often happens that whilst deciding to paint the complete view I become involved in one part of it, sometimes a tree, or a reflection and in this case it was the rocks !

The Old Boatyard at Conwy           £595

ORIGINAL WATERCOLOUR

40 x 27cm

Tucked behind Conwy castle is this amazing half boatyard -half boat  graveyard, with its fantastic shapes and colours. What stories these old boats could tell….
